5 Apps We Use In Conjunction with Digital Planning

So, you’ve got an iPad and you’re interested in Digital Planning, but you’re curious about what apps could be used with it. Well, look no further, that’s exactly what this blog post will be diving into. We’re going to share 5of our favorite apps that we like to use in conjunction with Digital Planning.

GoodNotes5 (Free/Paid)

What? - GoodNotes5 is our note-taking app of choice. It is quite intuitive and beginner friendly.

Where? - You can find it in the Apple App store/

Why? - This is where I use all of my digital planners. It is an app that allows you to interact with a Digital Planner by writing notes, highlighting, inserting text, and much more. This app (and any other note-taking app) is what allows digital planning to be.

Free? There is a free version and a paid version. I started out with the free and then upgraded to the paid version. I do think the paid version is well worth it if you find digital planning to be something you’re interested in.

If you are a student in school, and your school uses the Apple School Manager, you can get access to the full version for free.

Pinterest (Free)

What? - You’ve likely already heard of Pinterest but it truly is such a great app to gain inspiration and save that inspiration onto boards you can access at a later date. Pinterest acts as a visual search engine. There is so much content and visuals that can spark your creativity.

Where? - This can be accessed via web or through their app (Apple’s App Store and Google Play).

Why? - Inspiration

Free? - yes, free!

Pexels / Unsplash

What? - Pexels and Unsplash are websites/apps that host a collection of high-quality royalty free stock photos. These photos and videos can be used commercially or for personal use.

Where? - You can access Pexels via website or through the app (available in the App Store and Google Play). Here is the link for Unsplash, Unsplash is also available via app (both Apple’s App Store and Google Play) or website.

Why? - We like using these sites to have a greater variety of photos to use when creating our vision boards or inserting photos into our digital calendar.

Free? - Yes! You can even make an account with both sites so that you can save the pictures you like and create folders.

Coolors

What? - Coolors is a color palette generator. It allows you to create color combinations. You can lock a color from the color palette while you switch around other colors. You can browse popular color palettes, check the color contrast for greater accessibility of your work, and even discover new fonts!

Where? - There is a web version and an app available. Apps are available through Apple’s App Store, or Google Play

Why? - Helps you choose colors schemes.

Free? - Yes! Although there is also a paid version as well that gives you a bit more comprehensive tools.

iFont

What? - iFont allows you to install fonts for use in apps (such as pages, goodnotes5, and keynote). It supports creating content using customized fonts. However, iFont is not able to “change the system font, work with the keyboard, or force apps to customize the font.”

Where? - Available via Apple’s App Store and Google Play

Why? - Sometimes you want to change up your planner with a new writing style, whether you are using the “scribble” function or typing, iFont is a great resource to source new fonts for use in your digital planner.

Free? - Free version and paid, The paid version allows you to customize previews, change the iFont’s icon, group and sort fonts, and create multiple “smart groups”.
